A lifestyle full of responsibilities sometimes gets out of hand. You go through stages when there's always something more pressing than taking care of yourself.
We women are multi tasking maniacs. It seems that sometimes we just can't be still. Whatever free time we might have, we spend it
• chasing after the kids, • coping with the pets, • performing most of the housekeeping chores, • overseeing the family budget, • filling the freezer with food and • buying, washing, mending clothing -
- and whatever time is left is our own! Great.
When is the last time that you were able to sit down and read a book? What about watching a TV programme without being disturbed by the kids, the family pet, the neighbours, a family member, a friend or the phone?
Long time - can you even remember it?
Many of us feel that, when we have children we virtually place our, childrens face painting , lives on hold until they are grown up and able to take care of themselves, childrens face painting , . (Yeah, right - believe me that's just a dream.)
I remember when my kids were small, just getting up and out of the house was a major feat in organization.
By the time one of them was washed, dressed, fed and in the buggy, the other has chocolate smeared down the once clean T shirt and needed to be changed. Now all this has to be done at lightening speed, childrens face painting , because, if you took too long you were still be trailing round the shops for the groceries, when the first little treasure woke up and demanded to be fed.
As a relatively new mom I remember stepping out of the house with this whirlwind just, childrens face painting , behind me and thinking, "Did I was my face this morning?"
Our lives on hold - you bet.
If this sounds all too familiar, you really MUST find some alone time - some time to relax. You might mistakenly think that all this rushing around would help you to lose weight.
Wrong.
Not enough 'relaxing time' often creates a situation for weight gain.
Why? Well, something has to give and it's usually the way we feed ourselves. We 'pick', childrens, childrens face painting , face painting , while we feed the kids or even worse eat what they have left. Then we're too tired to make ourselves a proper meal, so we eat convenience food and slump on the sofa. Sounds familiar?
That's the perfect recipe for weight gain.
Taking time out for ourselves is essential; it keeps us focused - and sane!
Even if you must hire a sitter for the evening, or for an afternoon, then do that! And don't feel guilty (that's the hard one) about relaxing because you certainly NEED that time.
